Secret zero is the root secret or path that bootstraps access to vaults, KMS, or clusters. Compromising it cascades.
Protect secret zero with HSMs, multi-party ceremonies, and minimize long-lived root tokens—algorithm choices still apply to any public-key bootstrap.
