Movement Cryptography & Quantum Risk Profile
Verdict
Profile view: Movement is not quantum-proof. Move-based accounts typically use classical Ed25519-class auth; L2 operators and bridges add keys.
Overview
This is the Wave 7e network/profile page for Movement (l2).
Movement brings Move execution to Ethereum-aligned L2 designs. Quantum risk is Move account crypto plus Ethereum bridge/settlement assumptions.
Compare Aptos/Sui for Move lessons; do not assume Move is PQC.

Cryptographic profile
- Signatures: Move account signatures (Ed25519-class common; verify), L2 operator keys as deployed
- Hash: Move transaction hashing
- Public-key exposure: Move accounts public; Ethereum DA/settlement paths may add bridges.
- Verify Movement account crypto from primary docs.
What breaks
- Classical signatures authorizing MOVE value under Shor-class adversaries once public keys are known
- Custodial hot wallets and exchange operational keys
- Bridges, issuers, or operator sets outside ordinary user wallets
- Sequencer / prover / upgrade keys on the L2 path
Mitigations
- Inventory every key that can move MOVE (self-custody, exchange, multisig, protocol roles)
- Name the host chain and bridge path for every balance
- Document operator/admin sets for L2s and apps
- Track ecosystem PQC research; branding is not deployment
- Use /assessment and claims methodology pages for program framing
FAQ
