Layer 2 / scaling network

Scaling systems that inherit or reference a base chain’s security—still usually classical user keys plus extra operator surfaces.

Definition

L2 and scaling designs aim for throughput and cost efficiency. They do not automatically implement post-quantum signatures for users or bridges.

Threat models must include sequencers/operators, bridges, and the base layer (e.g. Ethereum) together.
