Fast classical signature scheme used heavily on Solana—strong classically, not post-quantum.
Definition
Ed25519 is an Edwards-curve signature scheme prized for performance and simplicity when implemented correctly. It is widely used beyond any single chain.
It is not a NIST post-quantum algorithm. Marketing that equates “modern elliptic curve” with “quantum-proof” is incorrect.
