Taproot
Bitcoin soft-fork feature set using Schnorr signatures and improved script paths—classically powerful, not quantum-safe by itself.
Definition
Taproot (and related BIPs) brought Schnorr signatures and more flexible spending conditions to Bitcoin. These are modern classical designs with privacy and efficiency benefits.
Schnorr on secp256k1 remains in the discrete-log family relevant to Shor’s algorithm once public keys are known. Taproot ≠ post-quantum.
