Quantum Key Distribution (QKD)
Physics-based key exchange using quantum channels—complementary to, not a drop-in for, PQC.
Definition
QKD detects eavesdropping on a quantum link used to establish key material. It requires specialized hardware and does not by itself provide signatures or general internet PKI.
Most enterprise roadmaps prioritize software PQC; QKD appears in niche high-security links.
