P2PK (Pay-to-Public-Key)

Early Bitcoin script style that locks coins to a raw public key—maximally exposed for Shor-class attacks if a CRQC exists.

Definition

Pay-to-public-key outputs place the public key in the locking script rather than only a hash of the key. That means there is no “hidden until spend” window for those UTXOs.

P2PK appears in early Bitcoin history and is a key teaching example when explaining why not all coins share the same quantum exposure timeline.
