Profile view: Stacks is not quantum-proof for account authorization. Bitcoin anchoring couples some security arguments to Bitcoin but does not replace classical Stacks signatures with PQC.

This is the Wave 7e network/profile page for Stacks (l1).
Stacks builds smart-contract and asset functionality connected to Bitcoin. Quantum risk includes Stacks keys and the Bitcoin layer’s own classical signature story.
Inventories should list STX keys, any BTC involved in flows, and bridges.

Cryptographic profile
- Signatures: Stacks transaction signatures (verify current schemes), Bitcoin-anchored security assumptions for some properties
- Hash: Stacks + Bitcoin-related hashing in anchoring flows
- Public-key exposure: Stacks accounts public; BTC anchoring does not make STX accounts PQC.
- Verify current Stacks signature algorithms from primary docs.
What breaks
- Classical signatures authorizing STX value under Shor-class adversaries once public keys are known
- Custodial hot wallets and exchange operational keys
- Bridges, issuers, or operator sets outside ordinary user wallets
Mitigations
- Inventory every key that can move STX (self-custody, exchange, multisig, protocol roles)
- Name the host chain and bridge path for every balance
- Document operator/admin sets for L2s and apps
- Track ecosystem PQC research; branding is not deployment
- Use /assessment and claims methodology pages for program framing
