Mode Network Cryptography & Quantum Risk Profile
Verdict
Profile view: Mode is not quantum-proof. Classical EVM signatures authorize users; sequencer/bridge keys remain classical.
Overview
This is the Wave 7e network/profile page for Mode Network (l2).
Mode is an OP-Stack-oriented L2 focused on growth and DeFi. Default user crypto is still secp256k1 EOAs.
Treat it like other Superchain-family deployments: user keys + operator keys + Ethereum settlement path.

Cryptographic profile
What breaks
- Classical signatures authorizing MODE value under Shor-class adversaries once public keys are known
- Custodial hot wallets and exchange operational keys
- Bridges, issuers, or operator sets outside ordinary user wallets
- Sequencer / prover / upgrade keys on the L2 path
Mitigations
- Inventory every key that can move MODE (self-custody, exchange, multisig, protocol roles)
- Name the host chain and bridge path for every balance
- Document operator/admin sets for L2s and apps
- Track ecosystem PQC research; branding is not deployment
- Use /assessment and claims methodology pages for program framing
FAQ
Is OP Stack quantum-safe?
No—stack architecture ≠ PQC signatures for users.
What to inventory first?
EOAs holding value on Mode, canonical bridges, and upgrade multisigs.
