Kava combines Cosmos SDK and EVM environments. Quantum risk includes both account models plus validators and IBC/bridge paths.
Do not assume “Cosmos” implies post-quantum—most zones still use classical account crypto.

Cryptographic profile
- Signatures: Cosmos SDK account signatures (often secp256k1; verify), Co-chain EVM account signatures where enabled
- Hash: Tendermint/CometBFT pipeline hashing
- Public-key exposure: Account pubkeys public; dual Cosmos+EVM surfaces double inventory work.
What breaks
- Classical signatures authorizing KAVA value under Shor-class adversaries once public keys are known
- Custodial hot wallets and exchange operational keys
- Bridges, issuers, or operator sets outside ordinary user wallets
- Validator sets and IBC/gateway trust assumptions
Mitigations
- Inventory every key that can move KAVA (self-custody, exchange, multisig, protocol roles)
- Name the host chain and bridge path for every balance
- Document operator/admin sets for L2s and apps
- Track ecosystem PQC research; branding is not deployment
